ABOUT
Powell and Barnes Consultancy was founded in 2018 by business and communications specialist Marceline Powell. In 2023 the business changed to 'The Business Comms Agency'.

Our mission is to champion enterprise development and growth using vision insight and strategy to support and maximise the success of small businesses, charities and organisations across the UK.
​
Marceline has won two national awards including National Crime Beat Award 2021 for her work with the Nottinghamshire Violence Reduction Unit (on behalf of the Office for the Police & Crime Commissioner), a Lord Lieutenant Award for services to the voluntary sector, and in 2022 Marceline was a finalist for a National BT Award.

Marceline is a SFEDI trained business consultant and a communications specialist, who has delivered development support and training to businesses, organisations and charities for many years as an enterprise development consultant before specialising in strategic engagement and communications.

I am in my second year at Birmingham City University studying Media and Communication. I specialise in PR, marketing and podcasting which are all aspects that I am working on during my internship.

I am currently studying for my MA in Data Journalism at Birmingham City University. I am gaining experience in journalism through the company's ethnic media platform.
Charlotte Butler
Design & Marketing
I am studying Fashion Business and Promotion at Birmingham City University, where I have taken part in a wide range of modules such as Marketing, Visual Merchandising and Trend Forecasting.
I have additionally completed live briefs with brands such as Next, Harvey Nichols and Selfridges. Throughout my course I have gained crucial software and communication skills which I am developing further through my time at the company.
